A Playful New Brand for a Coastal Early Learning Centre

A joyful, coastal-inspired rebrand that captures the spirit of early learning and the essence of Yamba’s seaside charm.

Previously known as Willy Wagtails, the centre recently transitioned to new ownership and saw an opportunity to start fresh—with a name and brand that truly reflected their beautiful coastal surroundings in Yamba, NSW. The existing identity no longer aligned with their vision for the future. They needed a brand that would communicate warmth, nature, and exploration, while also appealing to both families and children in a playful yet professional way.

The goal was to create a visual identity that evokes feelings of trust, playfulness, and a deep connection to nature—making Seaside Explorers instantly recognisable within their local community.

The Solution: Coastal Charm Meets Playful Design

We created a complete branding suite for Seaside Explorers, balancing professionalism with playfulness:

  • Logo Design: A hand-drawn-style logo that incorporates ocean-inspired elements, capturing both the sense of adventure and the centre’s coastal location.
  • Colour Palette: Soft, natural tones like sandy beige, seafoam green, and ocean blue—evoking calmness, creativity, and connection to nature.
  • Typography: Friendly and rounded typefaces that are easy to read and child-friendly, while maintaining a polished, professional look.
  • Visual Elements: Supporting icons and patterns inspired by the beach, waves, and marine life to enhance the overall brand experience.
  • Brand Guidelines: A brand guide to ensure consistent use of visual elements across future signage, uniforms, print collateral, and their upcoming website.
